We love to eat, hindi ba obvious sa katawan namin? Hehe. Seriously
speaking, my husband and I loves trying new restaurant once in a while. During
our #MarriageFirstFriday we make sure to treat ourselves by means of eating and
at the same time our #HusbandAndWife moment. Meaning no kids allowed, no work-related
just pure conversation about love, plans in life/family and goals. Okay fine,
gumagamit kami ng phone sometimes to check our kids if they’re okay. You know,
CCTV.
Last Friday, instead of going out for lunch (our usual
#MarriageFirstFriday treat) we decided to make it on dinner time para mas
mahaba haba ang time namin sa isa’t isa. (Yes! We are still dating kahit na we
have 2 kids na..) My husband opted to visit Circuit Makati since that day falls
as “Friday Payday” baka daw mahirapan kaming makauwi pag lalayo pa kami and
since we’re already familiar with the place (Remember, every weekend nasa
Circuit kami with the kids), we chose Onboard Game + Gastro Pub for dinner.
Onboard Game + Gastro Pub have a spacious area,
bright and very inviting ambiance which filled with wide selection of various
board games on both side of the place. They offer old games such as snake and
ladders which I love most and new games that we’ve never tried before, basta
malulula ka sa daming board games sa filling cabinet. The tables are designed for playing board
games because of the additional closet under the table.
If you’re not familiar with the board games you
want to play, there are friendly and knowledgeable staffs in the store who are
willing to teach the mechanics of a board game. Nice huh?! Well actually, we
asked help from one of them to brief us on how to play those specific board games.
We absorb all the information and spent less than 5 minutes learning the game.
O db, ang galing namin. Hehe. We then learned to get the rules as our game
progressed.
Now let’s go to the food we ordered. I ordered for Tapa and Garlic Confit Rice, this is combination of braised beef tapa and soft boiled egg on top of garlic confit fried rice. The Tapa is nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked although my husband told me that it was too salty but for me, the Tapa tasted really great, isn’t chewy or too soft. Saktong sakto lang talaga.
Tapa and Garlic Confit Rice Php 240.00
My husband ordered for a bigger, better, flatbread
that has crispy cuts and fantastic toppings and one of their best sellers -
Penta Cheese Pizza. It is combination of cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, feta
and blue cheeses. The flatbread was delicious which suit my husband’s taste buds.
Penta Cheese Php 350.00
The husband ordered for Adam and Eve for drinks
which according to them it one of their best sellers at Cocktail. It’s a mixture
of Jack Daniels , Southern Comfort, apple, cranberry, cinnamon, like
liquid apple pie that gets you high. Well hindi nakayanan ng asawa ko kaya
after 3 sips ayaw na. Sayang ang Php 199.00. Tsk Tsk. According to him, super
tapang daw at baka pag inubos nya eh hindi sya makapag drive pauwi.
Adam and Eve Php 199.00
Everything has been well thought off, the wide
selection of board games, their food, the friendly staffs, and the place itself.
Onboard Game + Gastro Pub is really one of a kind restaurant which able to bond
families and friends, eating while playing is the best pastime ever. By the
way, they don’t have Wifi inside the store that’s why you are forced to play
the game! Well, mas okay nga yun eh, no gadgets while playing!
I will definitely come back here again soon, this
time I may try it out with my friends. As simple reminder, if you’ll be coming
in as a group, best to call for reservations.
Will I come back again? Definitely! May try it out with friends and a couple of drinks instead, though.
