Rhian’s 1st Christmas Celebration

As a 1^st time mom, I’m so excited to celebrate Christmas Day with my family. I want to celebrate it more special because of Rhian, but sad to say on December 24 she got sick. Rhian has fever on Christmas Eve so she was not that active but still a happy baby. Halos whole day ko lang syang karga kaya I told my tita to help me prepare our food for Noche Buena. I’m so sad, I told myself “Bakit ngayon pa sya nagkasakit kung kelan Christmas Day?” I blame myself because Rhian is sick. But my husband explain to me na lagnat laki lang yun and it’s viral, mawawala rin yun eventually, just trust God. So after 4 days, masigla na ulit anak ko. Thank you Lord.

Before kami mag simba, traditional photo ops muna. Kung last year, 2 lang kami ni Ian plus the 3D ultrasound ni Rhian ngayon kumpleto na talaga kami. Look at our baby love, kahit hindi maganda pakiramdam still nakuha parin nya ngumiti. Oh Rhian, you’re so adorable.

Happy Family

Ian and I decided to attend Christmas Eve mass at National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (where we got married), we arrived 30 minutes before the start, we were seated beside my parents when the usherette approach us and asked if we are one family. Syempre sabi namin, YES and then I got surprised when she told us na kami daw ang nagrerepresent ng holy family. Wow! Totoo ba to? Sa dami ng tao and pamilya sa loob ng simbahan, kami talaga ang napili na maging holy family. Is this the sign na gagaling na anak ko? Without any hesitation, we said “YES” again.  Before the Gospel, the usherette assists us at the end of the aisle and instructed us on what to do. Sabi sa amin, na si Ian na muna ang kakarga kay Rhian while I am holding the baby Jesus statue. We kept on saying “ Rhian, wag kang iiyak ha, si Baby Jesus to.” We did this kasi nga walang ibang sinasamahan si Rhian that time kung hindi ako, so it’s so impossible na hindi sya umiyak pag buhat ng ama nya but God is good, hindi umiyak si Rhian and she keeps on holding baby Jesus. Basta nakatitig lang sya, hinahawakan yung paa ng statue and behave lang. I don’t know what to say but it’s a miracle. As we walked down the aisle with all eyes of the parishioners are with us, napapaluha ako. I don’t know bakit, maybe I remember the day na naglakad rin ako dito during our wedding day or maybe I’m so happy kasi dream ko talaga ang maglakad sa aisle together with my own family. Basta I am 100% sure na we were so blessed kasi kami ang napili. The presiding priests bless us and accompany us at the Belen where I place Baby Jesus in the manger. Iba yung feeling when we reached the Belen, super nagpapasalamat ako kasi I know pinili kami ni God na mag represent as a holy family because of Rhian, para gumaling na sya and para maging memorable yung 1^st Christmas nya. (Sorry no photos, biglaan kasi eh, tska holy mass yun kaya walang nagpicture.)

Our First Christmas Day as Family 

We had our 1^st ever Noche Buena at our home. I know our baby love is so sleepy na lalo na masama pakiramdam nya but you know what pinipigilan nyang umiyak sa antok habang kumakain kami. Ang galing, para bang binigyan pa sya ni Lord ng extra energy para kasabay namin syang mag Noche Buena.

On Christmas Day, since my baby love is still not feeling well due to fever we decided to stay at home instead of going out. Around 12noon, we went to my parent’s house for lunch.

By afternoon, umuwi na kami para makapagpahinga and open the gifts. Hindi na kasi kami nakapag exchange gift during Noche Buena at super sleepy na ang bagets. My husband gave me Electric Oven, this is my dream! To have my own oven. Super hilig ko kasing magluto eh and now mas mapra-practice pa ang pagiging chef ko. Naks!

Even though we were not able to go out last Christmas, happy parin kami kasi kahit na may nararamdaman si Rhian still active and happy baby parin sya plus the fact na mas need nya ng mahabang rest para makabawi ng lakas.
